Who Is Ian?

Probably the easiest way to answer that is ……..I am a work in progress!

Constantly evolving….constantly, working on being a better me!

This page has been a while coming! I have thought long and hard about this, as you might know it is a very difficult thing to write about one’s self, as my perception of myself may differ from someone else’s!

However, here goes.

A Work In Progress..

I am the sum total of my education, but I am more than my education.

I am the sum total of my experiences, but I am more than my experiences.

I am the sum total of my Life, my Loves, my Passions and all my Experiences.

But I am more than all those rolled together.

In short I am greater than sum of the parts!

I constantly strive to be a better me!

Every Day in Every Way I Just Keep Getting Better..

I firmly believe that, a life spent never seeking to better myself in all aspects, is a life spent without change, and change is what makes us a better person.

This journey began many years ago but the first thing that really brought this home was my first trip to Africa.

Not long before leaving a friend said to me, ‘visit the Rift Valley, it’s the cradle of humanity’! I didn’t think on it too much at the time, but there I was some weeks later, sitting on the edge of the ‘Rift Valley’, in Kenya, and it was so tangible in the air, you could taste it!

I had just recently stepped off a Jumbo Jet after a 20 hour flight and now here I was in the place where all human life began. I couldn’t help being struck by that journey, that was where I began my own personal journey!!!!!!!

A Career of Passion..

I have been one of the lucky few, who have built a career on doing something I am passionate about, “MUSIC”! It began a long time ago were I was able to make a living as a classically trained guitarist, moving on to a number of other instruments along the way. Than one day a chance encounter with a motorbike saw me make my way backstage into tour and production management.

I have since spent a 30+ year career doing what I am passionate about, doing what I love. Over the years I have lead troupes of anywhere from 6 to 60 cast and crew around the world, leading them from behind the scenes. Making life as seamless as possible, for all involved. Now, I am ready to move onto a new challenge.

A Lifetime of Experiences..

All of these experiences and varying forms of education along the way, including business management courses and diplomas, hands on experiences, running my own business for over 30+ years, have given me the ability to ‘think on my feet’.

I am a solutions based person, with the ability to see things from all angles and to come to a solution that works for all involved.

I do not react to a situation – I act on it. I believe in all situations you have a choice. A choice to get caught up in the moment or step back from it, look at it and move through it to it’s conclusion.

A choice to have your glass half full or half empty!

I choose not to surround myself with negativity, or people that approach the world with a victim mentality. I do not see that energy as something I wish to have in my life. I strive as much as possible to pass on positive energy and uplift the people I come into contact with – I believe this is a win/win approach to life and relationships.

I do not focus my energies on what may be missing in my life, but more on what I want in my life. A firm believer in the Law of Attraction, what you focus on is what you will get more of, so I choose to focus on what I want more of in my life.

I have a natural desire to help, where I can, those I come in contact with, to share with them my experience and knowledge.

Life is about relationships in all their forms, it’s about sharing knowledge, what we choose to do with that knowledge is each individual’s personal journey.

Well, there it is – me in a snapshot!

This has been an interesting exercise in introspection. It’s been an interesting exercise, I have had many moments in my life and met many different and interesting people. All of which has made me what I am. Above is just a brief insight into who I am, and what has made me that way.

But there is certainly a lot more to unfold!
